Accessibility Statement
VaultSomm is committed to ensuring equal access for all users. If you encounter any accessibility barrier, please email accessibility@vaultsomm.com and we will respond within 5 business days.
Our Commitment
VaultSomm is committed to ensuring that our website and web application are accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We believe that everyone deserves equal access to our platform and the tools it provides for managing fine wine collections.
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA — the standard recognised by the U.S. Department of Justice as the appropriate benchmark for website accessibility under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title III.
Conformance Status
VaultSomm is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working to identify and remediate any non-conformances.
Our target conformance level is WCAG 2.1 Level AA, with ongoing efforts toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA for new features.
Measures We Have Taken
To support accessibility, VaultSomm has implemented the following:
- Keyboard navigation: Core application features are accessible via keyboard without requiring a mouse.
- Colour contrast: Text and interactive elements are designed to meet minimum contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
- Semantic HTML: We use semantic HTML5 elements and ARIA roles to convey structure and meaning to assistive technologies.
- Form labels: All form inputs include associated labels and descriptive error messages.
- Focus indicators: Visible focus indicators are maintained for keyboard navigation.
- Responsive design: The platform adapts to different screen sizes and supports text resizing up to 200% without loss of functionality.
- No content based on colour alone: Information is not conveyed by colour exclusively — icons, labels, or patterns supplement colour coding.
- Alt text: Informative images include descriptive alternative text.
Known Limitations
We are aware of the following areas that may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA at this time:
- Interactive map (Regional Explorer): The Mapbox-based wine region map is a complex interactive element. While we provide a list-based fallback, full screen reader support for all map interactions is not yet complete.
- Data visualisations: Some charts and graphs (portfolio analytics) may not yet provide complete text alternatives for all data points. We are working to add accessible data tables alongside all chart views.
- Third-party components: Some third-party UI components may not fully comply with WCAG 2.1. We evaluate and replace non-conformant components as part of ongoing development.
We are actively working to address these limitations. If you encounter any accessibility barrier not listed here, please contact us (see below).
